Overview

The Game

RAYCION is a bullet hell shooter: enemies fill the screen with projectile patterns, your ship fires on its own — your job is to fly through the gaps, jump at the right moment and build up your ship wisely during the run.

Dodging is everything

Your hitbox is just a small core in the middle of the ship. In focus you fly slowly and precisely through dense patterns; grazing projectiles charges up grazes and combos.

Jump, Nova, Reprise

The jump makes you briefly invulnerable, the nova clears the screen, and the ion chamber stores projectiles that you send back as a reprise volley.

Build up during the run

Level-ups bring skill points and boons. At level 5 your weapon chooses its upgrade path, at level 10 its improved form.

Permanent progress

You take ions and element stones back to the hangar — for new weapons, hulls, jumps, defenses and stronger upgrade paths.

Game modes

Arcade

Fifty sectors upward. A guardian every five, stronger squadrons every ten, and the Core waiting in sector 50.

Track

Load your own song: tempo, intensity and timbre drive enemies, patterns and your firepower. Choreographies in between demand a flawless dance.

Orbit

An open star system of three rings. Mine ore, trade at outposts, secure zones — and eventually head inward to the Core.

Co-op

Arcade for two ships on one screen.

Couch co-op

Two players on one screen, each with their own ship, weapon, jump and defense. You share XP, lives and boons. A downed ship drifts as a wreck — your partner can salvage it before a shared life is lost.

  • Start via the CO-OP card in mode selection
  • Keyboard + mouse against a controller, or two controllers
  • 1P plays in blue, 2P in orange — right down to the projectiles
  • Both choose their loadout; the flight starts once both are ready
  • Much more incoming fire than solo: co-op is a real challenge
